Please help us!

Barbara was taken from us (murdered) on October 1, 2009 at about 6:00 pm in Glendale, Oregon.

Helen was critically injured during the same time and at the same location.

The suspect that caused this destruction in our lives is described as being average height, thin build, and wearing a dark (possibly fake) beard. Clothing has been described as dark grey pants or black pants, light blue or grey hooded sweatshirt with pockets in the front. The suspect was also seen wearing a small dark colored backpack and was on foot in the area around the time of the shooting.

There may be a vehicle associated with the suspect described as a black Toyota 4Runner SUV between 1995 and 2002. The vehicle was also described as possibly a black Toyota pickup with a black canopy.

If anyone has any information on the person responsible for this violent attack, please leave information on this blog or contact the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.

Barbara and Helen are loved by many people and our thoughts and prayers are with them.

Contributions may be made to the Barbara Tooley Memorial Fund at any branch of Umpqua Bank.

  5. I'm a news junkie, and when I saw this sketch of this man he has similarities of the 18 year old teen wanted in WA. I had heard that he is now missing, and that officers believe he shot at them. Which leads me to believe he has a gun. With him on the run and this residence being right off I-5, it may be something to look into. I've attached a link with the story.

  6. Barbara's sister was a neighbor of mine. A wonderful family. They will all be in my prayers.

I hope he will not hurt anyone else, and will be caught soon. Let justice be done.

  10. Wow- I checked out the news clip listed on 10-19. There is an amazing similarity and a description of someone crazy enough to do this aweful crime. Blessings on the family. Our prayers are with you.

  11. Has anyone checked into the men that were recently arrested in Elkton for a robbery in Florence? They're out of Eugene but apparently like to travel for their goods. To me the one named Lowry shows a resemblence to the sketch. The vehicle they were driving was a 1994 Chevrolet Blazer. Here's the link:

  19. I miss my sister in-law, its hard to have family get together's and see her children and beautiful grandchildren that she never even got the chance to know. I get angry all over again, why has nothing been done to solve this murder? There is a horrible person or persons walking around free out there, I know someone knows something, Please how would you feel if it was your loved one, Its probably easy to hide it as long as its out of sight out of mind. Its never out of her family's mind, yes life has to go on but I don't have to make it comfortable for the sheriffs office or the people in Glendale who may know something, You only think of her when the family brings her to your attention, so I need to make sure that happens more often, WE ARE NOT GOING AWAY! I don't even know if anyone even looks on this page any more, other then family, but just in case, please if anyone knows something, and you don't want to talk to the police, then get a hold of someone in her family. I love and miss you Lea and Helen, I'm so sorry you have not got the justice you so deserve.
